Who we are
www.roofersdartford.co.uk ("the website") trades as Pro Roofers Dartford. The website is owned and operated by IGEN MEDIA LTD (company number 14525127, registered office Dorset House, 5 Church Street, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 1JH), which is the data controller for personal information collected through it.
IGEN MEDIA LTD does not carry out roofing work itself. Enquiries made through the website are passed to an independent roofing contractor, who contacts you, surveys the roof, quotes and, if you go ahead, does the work under their own contract with you. Our terms and conditions explain that arrangement in more detail.
What we collect
When you fill in a quote form on the website we collect:
- your name, email address and phone number
- the service you're asking about, and anything you type in the "tell us more" box
- the page you sent the form from
If you phone or email us instead, we keep a record of your number or email address and what you told us about the job. We don't ask for, and you shouldn't send, payment card details through the website.
Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, and are not used to identify you.
How we use it, and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange a survey and quote. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- To keep a record of enquiries so we can answer follow-up questions, deal with complaints and improve the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To meet legal obligations, for example keeping records required by law (Article 6(1)(c)).
We don't use your details for marketing, and we never sell them.
Who we share it with
- The independent roofing contractor who handles the work, so they can contact you, visit and quote. Once they have your details they are responsible for how they use them under their own contract with you.
- Web3Forms, the service that delivers form submissions to our inbox, and our email provider. They process the data on our behalf.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the website and processes server logs.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on UK adequacy regulations or the standard contractual safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Where work goes ahead, we keep the enquiry record for up to six years, in line with the period for contract claims, and then delete it.
Cookies
The website doesn't set advertising or analytics cookies. Embedded Google Maps on the location pages may set Google's own cookies when they load; Google's privacy policy covers those.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information, or restrict how we use it
- stop processing based on our legitimate interests
- send your information to you or another organisation in a portable format
Email us at the address below and we'll reply within one month. There's normally no charge.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
